100th Vasan Eye Hospital Inaugurated in Karaikudi

Vasan Healthcare Group recently launched their 100th Vasan Eye care hospital at Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. Honorable Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh inaugurated the new facility. Also present at the launch were Hon'ble Union Home Minister, P. Chidambaram and His Excellency Dr. K. Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu. Vasan Eye Care is the world’s largest network of standalone eye care provider.

Being located strategically, the new hospital at Karaikudi provides easy access to the residents in and around the region. With this move, the Group is aiming to position itself as the world's largest day care service provider.

Dr A M Arun, chairman, Vasan Healthcare Group,was also present who said, “This is a proud milestone for us. Our growing number of hospitals is a testimony to our mission of bringing quality eye care to the doorsteps of the common man. We will expand our services to 125 hospitals by the end of this fiscal year. Dr Manmohan Singh, the Prime Minister of India, inaugurated the Apollo Reach Hospitals at Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu on 26.12.2011. The Guests of Honour, Dr K Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu and P Chidambaram, Union Minister of Home Affairs, Government of India were also present in the occasion.

It is a 100 bedded facility with Hi-tech infrastructure and State-of-the-art equipments offering care in various specialties like Cardiology, Nephrology, General Surgery, General medicine, Pediatrics Dental, Gynecology and obstetrics etc.

SAHARA 58th SENIOR MEN NATIONAL BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS AT ALAGAPPA CHETTIAR ENGG. & TECH,.,KARAIKUDI

The stage was set, the spirits soaring high as the Indian boxers returned to the domestic arena for the Sahara 58th Senior Men’s National Boxing Championship. The tournament, considered to be a bastion of nation's best and brightest talent, witnessed boxers of the country vying for title of National Champion. Over 275 boxers from 36 State and Board teams participated battle it out for the prestigious title in the 58th edition. 40 medals were awarded in the contest that happened from the 5th – 10th December’2011.

The event was organised by the Tamil Nadu State Boxing Association under the aegis of Indian Boxing Federation and is the last national championship in the IABF calendar for the year 2011.

A Happy news for all those in Sivaganga,Pudukottai,Ramanathapuram and Tiruchi districts.The highly awaited four laning between Tiruchy and Ramanathapuram gets approved by National Highways Authority.A huge amount of Rs.965 Cr has been earmarked as part of the first instalment for the four laning.The first phase of the project would be between Tiruchy and Karaikudi which will be around 92 km and the second phase will be between Karaikudi and Ramanathapuram (approx 180 km).
